2019 Rosalind Athletics Tournament

Posted June 20, 2019

This weekend marks another year of the Rosalind Athletics annual tournament. On Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23 baseball fans will be treated to some great baseball action to go along with a slo-pitch tournament, camping and a small town dance/party on Saturday night.

The host Rosalind Athletics will be joined by a couple of teams looking at participating in the 2019 Canadian National Oldtimers Baseball Federation Championship in Calgary/Airdrie in August. The Battle River Athletics and Clive Legends will both be on the field as well as North Central Alberta Baseball League teams the Edmonton Primeaus and Parkland Twins. The Battle River Rivals, the team formed after the merger of the Spring Lake Lakers and Heisler Cardinals will be the lone Battle River Baseball League team at the tournament. The Powerline Baseball League will be represented by the Rosalind Athletics, Camrose Roadrunners and Edmonton Expos.

Here is a look back at the 2018 Rosalind Athletics Tournament which saw the host Rosalind Athletics defeat the Edmonton Primeuas of the NCABL in the tournament final.

**TOURNAMENT UPDATES**

– Wet weather over the last couple of days have forced a delay to the start times on Saturday by one hour. The always impressive field in Rosalind affectionately known as The Homer Dome, was able to pull through and recover from heavy rain in the area, due to the hard work of the Rosalind grounds crew.

– Follow @Rosalindsports on Twitter for an up to date tournament schedule including game results and the popular Homer Dome Home Run Counter which through the first two games is at 2.

– On Saturday afternoon the Rosalind Athletics announced a change to the times of games on Sunday. The 8:00pm Saturday Semi-Final (which is now between the Edmonton Expos and Battle River Rivals) has been moved to Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm. This will shift the Consolation Final to 4:00pm and the Tournament Final to 6:00pm. These changes have been added to the schedules below.

– Congratulations to the Battle River Rivals for winning the 2019 Rosalind Athletics Tournament. The Rivals defeated the North Central Alberta Baseball League’s Edmonton Primeaus by a score of 8-6 in the final. The Rivals had been leading the Battle River Baseball League south division with a 6-1 record as of June 7, however more recent standings were not available. The Primeaus have been surprising the Senior AA NCABL this season by playing their way to a 6-3 record heading into the weekend, which is currently good enough to be in second place.
